Recently, the only period we had for a Rock Band 3 release date was "Holiday 2010", which could be anything from September to December if we're being lenient. Thankfully though, a few days ago Harmonix announced a (US) release date of October 29th. There's been talk in the past of a simultaneous worldwide release for Rock Band 3, as was the case with The Beatles Rock Band and Green Day: Rock Band, so expect to be able to purchase the game and it's keyboardtastic controller towards the end of October in the UK as well. Amazon UK also have the game down for shipping on October 29th.
For the past few days Harmonix have been dropping hints on their Facebook and Twitter pages to artists that are going to be in the game before their official announcement at the recent ComicCon, and now that ComicCon has been and gone we can tell you the six new tracks that are going to be joining the previously announced tunes on the Rock Band 3 disc:
- "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" - Tears for Fears
- "Rock Lobster" - The B-52s
- "Foolin'" - Def Leppard
- "Beautiful People" - Marilyn Manson
- "Hey Man, Nice Shot" - Filter
- "Cold as Ice" - Foreigner
Still no Freezepop, and the staples of Rock Band games are also strangely non-existant in the list so far. We can't imagine a Rock Band game without a track by The Who.
With a release date set for October, expect a flurry of tracklist details in the coming weeks, we'll have more info when we get it.
