Although the game only hit stores just over a week ago, Nintendo are already releasing cool little extras for fans who snapped up the game early. In the first download of its kind, Nintendo are offering a new course for the Pokéwalker - so long as you have access to a Wi-Fi connection.
The Pokéwalker is the innovative little pedometer device that came bundled with Heart Gold and Soul Silver. After choosing a course to walk on, and a Pokémon to take with you, it counts your steps as your Pokémon goes on a parallel journey. With every few steps you take, you'll earn Watts, which can then be used to catch Pokémon in a special mini-game on the device.
The Yellow Forest is named as such due to the fact it's practically stuffed *full* of Pikachus. However, not all Pikachus are created equal, and a few of these Pokémon have abilities that a regular Pikachu doesn't usually have.
If you walk 9,500 steps, you'll have a chance of catching a Pikachu that knows how to surf. Walk 10,000, and you can catch a Pikachu that knows how to fly!
To access the Yellow Forest, all you have to do is turn on your DS, load up Pokemon, and select "Mystery Gift" from the main menu. From there, select "Receive over Wi-Fi", and the course will be delivered to a Pokemart near you. All you have to do then is collect the course, and the next time you go to put a Pokémon on your Pokéwalker, you'll have access to the Yellow Forest.
If you want to make the most of this promotion, however, you'd better be quick - the Mystery Gift event will end on the 5th of May, and after that, the Yellow Forest will no longer be available.
