Did you download Kat and Emmet Graves for the Sony-does-Smash-Bros beat 'em up Playstation All Stars Battle Royale when they first arrived on the store? If not, you really ought to check back slightly more often, as not only were they fantastic characters, but they were also free for a limited time! But while you'll now have to cough up the dough if you want to download those two, another pair of newcomers have also been added to the roster, making the battle for your wallet that much more interesting. From the God of War series comes the Thunder God, Zeus, father of Kratos, a master of electricity and a deity with a severe dislike of mortals. Zeus is a slow, hard-hitter, and is able to uniquely charge every attack at his disposal to deal more damage, charge your finisher meter more, and send opponents flying further. He also has a lot of lightning moves (although sadly none about rumbling, as you may expect from a God of thunder), and can even make copies of himself to confuse you.
Meanwhile, if you want someone with a bit more mobility, look no further than Isaac Clarke, hero of the Dead Space series. As an engineer on an interstellar mining starship who knows his way around a weapon or two, Isaac comes equipped with all sorts of goodies to take on any frightening horrors. Rotary saws, flamethrowers and plasma beams are just some of the equipment he uses to dish out pain. Inflict enough damage on your enemies, and charge up your meter enough, and you'll be able to unleash your finisher, which transports your enemies into space, where they're sitting ducks for Isaac and his space suit.
Much like Kat and Emmet brought with them Fearless, a mash-up of Heavenly Sword and Wipeout, Zeus and Isaac also bring with them a new stage, called 'The Graveyard', which is based on PS1 classic Medievil. Set in a spooky cemetery, zombies wander past in the background and a gargoyle even commentates on the fight, mocking each character with specific lines for them. Suddenly, the screen goes white as PSN gem The Unfinished Swan comes into play, painting additional structures and adding a layer of depth to the stage. You'll come across this stage in Arcade and Ranked Modes if you don't purchase it, but to pick it at your own choosing like Fearless, it'll cost you £1.59.
Zeus and Isaac can both be purchased for £3.99 individually, or, if you choose to buy all three items together, it'll only cost you £7.99, which works out as a bit less cheaper. Happy brawling!
