With New Super Mario Bros 2 having only hit shop shelves in August, and with New Super Mario Bros U set to follow suit, hitting the Wii U on launch day this November, you'd have thought the folks over at Nintendo were starting to get all Marioed out. Apparently, though, it seems they've got plenty more up their dungaree-clad sleeve yet, as Nintendo have announced the release of some new sets of paid, downloadable levels for New Super Mario Bros 2.
Announced via a video this morning, the new packs each add three new levels to New Super Mario Bros 2, and have apparently been designed based on feedback from the fans. Each pack comes with its own star rating, to tell you how tricky (or otherwise) it is, which is a nice touch - although we doubt many will be swayed from trying the hardest pack just because of it's rating!
The packs are divided up as follows:
Gold Rush Pack
A set of three fairly simple levels, the gold rush pack centres around one, easy concept - collecting as many coins as humanly possible, as fast as you possibly can. With a maximum of 30,000 coins available, it's a case of playing the levels over and over again, perfecting your route, until you get as close to the perfect score as possible.
Coin Challenge Pack A
Designed to offer something more of a challenge, the Coin Challenge Pack's levels ramp the difficulty up that little bit further, with a strict time limit, and a number different routes for you to take. But rather than aiming for a target score here, instead, your aim is to collect as many coins as possible within the time limit, as you try to become the number one in the world, with your score being added to an online, global leaderboard on the official New Super Mario Bros 2 website!
Nerve-Wrack Pack
Aimed at the Mario masters, the Nerve-Wrack Pack is exactly as you'd imagine - a collection of incredibly hard levels, designed to push even platforming perfectionists to the brink. With dozens of obstacles to dodge, collapsing bridges, and the strictest of time limits, a single mistake here is enough to spell disaster. If you want to see it through to the end, you'll need to have perfect timing, and more patience than Mother Teresa.

Available to download now from a menu in the game, the course packs will set you back £2 each, which is reasonably in line with the global pricing so far, being 200 Yen (£1.50), and 2.50 Euros. Why not check the video out above, and tell us what you think?
