Add on lets you get all the new cases for cheap

LA Noires Rockstar Pass released
6th June, 2011 By Everybody Plays Staff

If you've got a bit of a hidden sleuth in you, the chances are you've been enjoying Rockstar's latest masterpiece, the 40s infused detective drama, LA Noire. But if you've tracked down every criminal, solved all the cases, and moved your way up through the ranks of the LAPD, you may be wondering where your next hot case is going to come from. Luckily for you, Rockstar have announced they'll be supporting LA Noire with a series of downloadable cases, which will be released on the Xbox Live Marketplace over the next few weeks, starting today with the Rockstar Pass.

So what exactly is the Rockstar Pass, I hear you say? Well, its quite ingenious. It's a new way to kind of pre-order and purchase downloadable content for your games, giving you access to certain add-ons and levels when they're released at a later date in exchange for paying a low, low price in advance.

Right now the Pass is available to download from Xbox Live for a discounted price of 800 Microsoft Points. Downloading it now will immediately give you access to the once retailer pre-order exclusive DLC, "A Slip of The Tongue" Traffic Desk Case and "The Naked City" Vice Desk Case, along with the other retailer exclusive pre-order add-ons, the Sharpshooter Detective Suit and the Broderick Detective Suit.

Download the Rockstar Pass, download the new cases, and get interrogating!

But downloading the Rockstar pass will also give you access to two brand new cases which will becoming to Xbox Live this summer. The "Nicholson Electroplating" Arson case (coming June 21st) and the "Reefer Madness" Vice case (coming July 12th), will both be yours, free of charge, should you buy the Rockstar Pass today.

All of the add-ons and cases the Rockstar Pass gets you will be available to download individually, should you only want to buy one or two, but you'll find it's a lot cheaper to buy the Rockstar Pass than to buy everything individually - even if you only want the cases. The items now available for download are priced as follows:

  • "Badge Pursuit Challenge" - 160 MSP
  • Sharpshooter Detective Suit - 80 MSP
  • Broderick Detective Suit - 80 MSP
  • "The Naked City" Vice Case - 320 MSP
  • "A Slip of the Tongue" Traffic Case - 320 MSP

Now for a bit of maths… With the upcoming two cases (not listed above) priced at 320 MSP, if you were to buy all of the downloadable content individually, it would be setting you back a whopping 1600 Microsoft Points - or 50% more than the Rockstar Pass! Even if you were just planning on buying three of the cases individually you'd still be paying 960 Microsoft Points - making the Rockstar Pass quite the sensible investment!

For a 40% discount on the price you'd pay were you to buy the items individually, you really can't go wrong here. But if you fancy getting your sleuth on again in 1950's Hollywood at a bargain basement price, you'd better act fast. This is a limited time deal - the Rockstar Pass will be going up to 960 Microsoft Points on June 14th, so get buying, and get solving those new cases.
