Just Dance 3 announced for Wii AND Kinect
8th June, 2011 By Sarah Morris

There are few games that ever gain true mainstream success. If you say Mario to someone, the chances are they'll have heard of the portly plumber. And if you say Just Dance to someone, there's every chance they'll either own it, or at the very least have played it.

With gaming's largest showcase, the E3 Expo getting underway in LA, Ubisoft have announced that the latest title in their seminal dancing series will be getting another sequel, in the form of the earth-shatteringly-originally titled Just Dance 3 - only this time, you'll be able to play it on Kinect, as well as the Wii.

Wii or Kinect? Which one will you be getting?

Looking to offer the same, gesture matching gameplay we've all come to know and love, Just Dance 3 will see you hopping around in your living room like a loon to one of 40 new tracks, from modern hits like Taio Cruz's Dynamite, all the way through to cheesy 90s pop, like 2 Unlimited's No Limit. There's even a bit of Barbara Streisand been thrown in there for good measure.

Of course, this is no mere upgrade with a few new songs, as Just Dance 3 sports a few new features that are sure to get you bouncing. Brilliantly, on the Wii, you'll now be able to look forward to full four player co-op play, with each player getting their own moves to follow, while Kinect allows for two players to get their groove on simultaneously (thanks to the limitations of the hardware), although we remain hopeful for a four player take-it-in-turns style mode, as found in Michael Jackson: The Exprience

In another nifty addition, both versions of the games will now feature the lyrics for the songs on screen, while the Kinect version will actually score you for singing along as you jig about in your living room. In addition to the new features, everyone's favourite workout mode, "Sweat" will be returning, letting you keep tracking of how many calories you're burning while dancing to your favourite songs, while the return of Party mode lets you keep dancing to a non-stop stream of randomly selected tunes, until you just can't take it any more.

Just Dance 3, on both Wii and Kinect is set for a release later this year, where it'll be going head to head with the amazing We Dance, and the Zumba Fitness 2. Looks like we're going to need a new pair of dancing shoes, as at this rate, our old ones are going to be worn out... If you can't wait to get your hands-on the game, Ubisoft have released a funky teaser trailer for the game, which features a number of familiar faces. See how many you can name below:
