'Tis a quiet week this week on the Xbox Live Arcade game front, even if it is the beginning of Microsoft's latest 'House Party' promotion - one of the first promotions for a good long while where every game isn't 1200 Microsoft Points (about £10.20). The promotion kicks off this week with Hard Corps: Uprising - find out all you need to know below.
Hard Corps: Uprising
Price: 1200 Microsoft Points (about £10.20)
Part of the Contra series of side-scrolling shooters, which are famed for their unforgiving difficulty, Hard Corps: Uprising is set in the year 2613, where the world is ruled by a force called the Commonwealth, under which many people have suffered. Groups of Resistance Forces have formed to try to set things right, with many dying in the process - but playing as Bahamut, one of eight elite soldiers, the future of the world lies in your hands. As you play through the game, you'll be able to gain points which can be spent in the various shops scattered throughout the game, to purchase upgrades and new weapons, while the game's co-op mode means you can share the fun with a friend - or, in my case, let them do all the work for me.
Approximate value of Microsoft points in pounds is based on buying the points direct from Microsoft through the Xbox dashboard - equivalent price in pounds will vary depending on where you bought your points.
