We see a few familiar faces in the form of Ozzy Osbourne's Paranoid (Guitar Hero III), Aqualung by Jethro Tull (Rock Band 2) and Tick Tick Boom from the Hives (LEGO Rock Band), as well as some less familiar songs, from bands that have never appeared on a music game before, like Anberlin, John 5 and Tesla (don't worry, we've never heard of them either). Dragonforce also make their return in this game - their song 'Through the Fire and Flames' in Guitar Hero III was an impossibly difficult, mega fast, rather long song and we only personally know of one person who's completed it (our very own Chris). I failed it at 1%. Hopefully 'Fury of the Storm' is a little easier, although we doubt it very much.
Unfortunately, however, Guitar Hero seem to have done their typical have-loads-of-songs-by-one-artist thing, and this time the band of the moment is Rush, whose epic 20 minute long opus, 2112 has been split into seven parts for the sake of playability. They also have Queen's famous Bohemian Rhapsody in there - which, as a song composed mostly of piano and vocal harmonies (and would therefore be much better suited to Rock Band 3, which will have keyboard parts and vocal harmonies), doesn't exactly seem to fit the "great guitar song mantra". We had the chance to grill the game's developers about some of the stranger song choices at Gamescom in Cologne last week - so stay tuned for their answers.
