Do you think you have the X-Factor? Think you've got the voice to make it as the next big thing? Would Simon Cowell be smiling on you?
Or would your tone-deaf yowling reduce him to this:
No matter how good or bad you are, you can now embarrass yourself in the comfort of your own home, without the long trip to your nearest big city, the day long queues and the general hassle of attending the auditions, with The X-Factor, the new game from Hydravision/Deep Silver. Unless, of course, it's going to be a much more accurate simulation than we thought...
The game is apparently set to "capture the excitement and entertainment of the TV show" - including the series staple auditions, boot camps and judges' houses from the TV, as well as an individual career mode, and multiplayer in the form of duets and battles. Presumably, it'll be some sort of rhythm-action karaoke-style game, although whether it'll support Microsoft's new motion sensing Kinect camera remains to be seen. You'd imagine it's pretty likely. To anyone who follows the various tv-series-to-game conversions, the X-Factor game is a long time coming - Pop Idol got a game on the Playstation 2 back in the day, and more recently, American Idol had its own outing on the Wii. Both released to a fairly muted public reception - whether this will buck the trend, or be sent home by Simon with its tail between its legs remains to be seen.
