While Microsoft's Deals of the Week tend to vary in quality, this week, it's a solid hit, and one that'd have us emptying our wallets out if we hadn't already bought each and every game below. For one week only, every single Family Game Night game is half price - yes, all nine of them - so whether you don't own any of the games, or if you still need to complete your Family Game Night collection, now's your chance to stock up while they're cheap. And we'd highly recommend it.
Each game has had 50% shaved off the RRP, and are available to buy individually - down from 800 Microsoft Points (about £6.67) to 400 Microsoft Points (about £3.33) each. Bargain. The complete Family Game Night collection is as follows, and - if you were to buy every single game - would normally set you back a whopping 7200 Microsoft Points (about £60), but, thanks to the deal of the week, it now works out at a much more reasonable 3600 Microsoft Points, or £30:
- Battleships
- Boggle
- Connect 4
- Connect 4x4
- Jenga
- Pictureka
- Sorry!
- Sorry Sliders
- Yahtzee
For our neighbours on the other side of the pond, they'll also be finding Scrabble listed amongst the discounted games - but seeing as Hasbro don't own the rights to Scrabble in the UK, it won't be taking its place in the line up over here. No matter how much we want it.
Family Game Night is a collection of popular board games, each of which comes in its original form, along with a host of optional new modes and twists - such as bomb blocks in Jenga, that explode if you don't remove them from the tower quick enough, or portal cubes in Boggle, which switch the first and last letter of every word you make - all hosted by the lovable Mr. Potato Head, who provides many 'oooos' and 'aaaaahhs', as well as showing off his dance moves.
At 400 points each, we can highly recommend all of the games in the offer - although if we had to pick, we'd get Boggle, Battleships, Connect 4 x 4, or Jenga.
So, what are you waiting for! Get buying - trust us, you won't regret it!
