Last year saw the release of Epic Mickey, a Wii game in which Disney's mischievous mouse managed to turn the world upside down by clumsily knocking over jar of a paint, and creating the evil Shadow Blot, who becomes the tyrant of a world known as the Wasteland - a land filled with all Walt Disney's forgotten and failed creations. Armed with a magic paintbrush and a bottle of paint thinner, Mickey must work to undo all the trouble he caused - by selectively painting in and erasing certain aspects of the world over the course of a platforming adventure, as he tries to win back the trust of Oswald the Rabbit, Mickey's real-life predecessor created by Walt Disney. It was a game that introduced a number of unique ideas, for any game, yet alone a game starring Mickey Mouse. Letting you defeat enemies by either erasing them from existence with paint thinner, or converting them to be on your side by painting them in, every action you took had a consequences, as effectively removing certain characters from existence could hinder your Wasteland-healing mission.
Originally picked up by gaming website Destructoid, a potential Epic Mickey sequel is now being rumoured, stemming from a survey that's come straight out of Disney. With zero information on Epic Mickey 2 having been released up until now, a potential sequel wasn't even on most people's radars - but it seems that work may be churning along nicely behind the scenes, if the survey's to be believed.
For starters, the sequel to last year's Wii exclusive is down as being prepped for release not only on the Wii, but also the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 too. What's even better is that it'll also (potentially) be co-operative, with one person playing as Mickey Mouse, and the other as Oswald the Rabbit. Mickey looks set to retain his magical paintbrush from the first game, while Oswald can use his ears to "fly like a helicopter", and use electricity to "fight or befriend" enemies, as well as solve puzzles. You know, rabbits, electricity - that whole connection...
There's also a few different potential names floating round, like Epic Mickey 2: Return of the Mad Doctor, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two and Epic Mickey 2: Mystery on Mean Street, as well as plain old Epic Mickey 2 - and four different potential box arts doing the rounds:
But other than these - which could all be part of a very elaborate ruse - there's not a lot of information as it hasn't even been officially announced. Even the very mention of Epic Mickey 2 is enough to whet our appetites though, so you can be sure we'll be keeping our large, mouse sized ears to the ground.
