Good news for those of us who like to get our hands dirty, (especially with racing games), as Leamington Spa based studio Codemasters and Koch Media have announced that their long-awaited rally game, DiRT Rally, will be hitting the shelves on 5th April on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC - and, perhaps even more enticingly, they also confirmed some brand new features for the final release. Needles to say, the game looks very impressive, and with these additional extras we're sure both rally fans and gaming fans can't wait to get mud sliding around corners and careering around the courses.
So what extras will be added? First up are two new series for you to test your driving skills in - the Classic MINI series, and also the Super 1600, both of which will be available from the start of the game. There will also be 21 advanced rally driving video guides to help with getting your driving up to par - which will likely be much needed, considering how unforgiving the game can be. And, as another nice bonus, the famous full gravel surface "Pikes Peak" race is included for the first time in the game. The track is world famous and known as "The Race to the Clouds" so will no doubt add some more stunning views to the game. Fans of the late Colin McRae are also in for a treat as his three most iconic liveries will help them to enjoy being the legendary rally champion as they navigate their way through the tracks.

Several new cars have also been added to the game, some at the request of the public. The new cars will be Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak, Renault 5 Turbo, Renault Alpine A110, Opel Corsa Super 160, Peugeot 207 S1600, Renault Clio S1600, and, last but certainly not least, the Mini Classic Rallycross.
Also up for pre-order now is the DiRT Rally: Legend Edition, which will be receiving a limited run. Those who pre-order this will get to enjoy even more goodies, including the full length feature documentary Colin McRae: Rally Legend, which documents Colin's rise through the rally world, and even covers his involvement in past Codemasters rally games. Other goodies for the Legend Edition are the Fully Loaded MINI Pack, which unlocks and fully upgrades the MINI Cooper S and also provides an exclusive livery for the car, along with a unique team mechanic with some perks. The Fully Loaded Rallycross Pack also comes with it, which unlocks the Mini Classic Rallycross.
While it may have been gone for some time, there's not too long left before rally fans can get behind the wheel once again in DiRT Rally. Best get revving your engines now, as we count down the days to the release.
