Now some of us here at EP towers aren't exactly the biggest fans of mobile games. In fact most titles for iOS or Android tend to be cash in affairs filled with mediocre gameplay, irritating advertisements and endless micro-transactions. Funny then that Sega has finally released details on their new (and mobile exclusive) Sonic title: 'Sonic Runners', which was previously announced back in December.
You can check out the first trailer for the game below:
As you can see, there's not much info on how the game will actually play. From what we can gleam from the trailer, it looks like 'Sonic Runners' will focus heavily on nostalgia, using the 2D pixel-based art style from the classic Sonic the Hedgehog games (which is fine by us), while the title suggests the possibility of an endless runner (which if it is the case, we totally called it).
After the underwhelming series reboot that was Sonic Boom, this new title would seem to be great news for long time fans of the series. That's what we would be saying if it wasn't likely to be a mobile based endless runner, but lets reserve judgement until we know more.
While there is no news on any European release for Sonic Runners it's likely that it will make it overseas. We'll let you know as soon as we hear anything.
