Blacklight: Tango Down and Risk: Factions Discounted

Xbox Live Deal of the Week

Blacklight Tango Down and Risk Factions Discounted
14th February, 2011 By Sarah Morris

Bar me and my numpty of a brother, who demanded I bought him Risk on the day it came out, has anyone actually paid full price for Risk: Factions? Originally launched at 800 points, it was on offer in the EA Publisher sale less than a month ago, and has appeared in various sales three or four times before that. If Microsoft are running out of ideas for games to discount, I could give them a few - there's a whole load of Xbox Live Arcade Games that have never ever been discounted. I want Meteos Wars, Buku Sudoku and Soltrio Solitaire dammit!

But enough of my ranting. Here's the games you'll be able to download for bargainiferous prices this week:

Now: 600 Microsoft Points (about £5.10)

Strangely having nothing to do with a man who's dropped his fizzy orange drink, Blacklight: Tango Down is a mainly online first person shooter in which you and up to sixteen friends can play compete a variety of modes, including Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch, while gaining experience, which you can use to improve your weapons and stats. Disappointingly for those of us with real friends, there's no split-screen option here, and a pitiful single player/co-operative campaign, where you'll need to go behind enemy lines in the dilapodated streets of Balik to defeat soldiers from 'The Order' (I know, original, right?) across a whopping FOUR missions doesn't really make up. Even for a fiver, we're still not sure this is worth it..

Was: 800 Microsoft Points (about £6.80)

Now: 400 Microsoft Points (about £3.40)

A digital adaptation of the classic board game, Risk: Factions is pretty much what it says on the tin. Playing as one of five different factions - Humans, Zombies, Robots, Yetis and Cats (I know which one I'll pick) - which all have unique abilities, it's up to you try to strategically take over the world. You can play using either the classic Risk rules, or, if you're feeling a bit crazy, try out the new objective-based rules, in which you'll need to complete three objectives and have control of your capital to win the game.
