It's been making waves across Facebook for some time, but now, Bejeweled Blitz, the latest instalment in the 50m+ selling franchise, is making it's way to the Xbox Live Arcade in the next few months, with some extra modes to boot.

In Bejeweled Blitz LIVE, you'll have 60 seconds to make as many matches of 3 or more gems as you can, gaining multipliers - and therefore gaining points - as you go. There are two options to choose from - the Classic mode, and a new Twist variation, although details of the single player game seem a little thin on the ground at the moment. Along with the single player, though, the Xbox Live Arcade version will have a 16-player simultaneous Party mode, and a head-to-head Battle mode - both over Xbox Live. We're not really sure what these will involve, but we're hoping that local, same console multiplayer won't be being passed over in favour of online play. Hopefully, the game'll have some friendlier achievements than it's predecessor too (I have a whopping 10G - despite playing it loads).
More importantly, we're hoping Bejeweled Blitz comes with a reasonable price tag attached (*cough* Microsoft), especially taking into account how much it costs on other platforms. With the game available for free on Facebook, and 59p on the iPhone/iPod Touch, when you take the extra features into account, we've got our fingers crossed for a 400, or 800 points price point (about £3.40, and £6.80 respectively).
In the meantime, however, you can colour us incredibly interested (which is a light shade of blue, in case you're interested). We lost a lot of our life to Bejeweled 2, and we're ready to lose it again. At the right price, this will sell like the proverbial hot cakes.
