An interview with the star of Brave The Video Game

It may have been a long time coming, but Disney-Pixar's latest family blockbuster, Brave, is set to slide into cinemas in just a few days time - and as has become traditional, in an attempt to make the most of the wave of publicity the film's already taking in, the official video game tie-in is currently sitting on shop shelves, waiting for those lovable kids, and their pester power to really take hold. To drum up awareness of both the film and the game's release, Disney have released a new trailer of sorts, which takes the form of an interview with Kelly MacDonald, the voice of Princess Merida in both the film and the game, who talks about her experiences voicing the princess, and tells us a little about the game. Why not take a look:

Wow, eh? It's nothing if not brief, but what it doesn't tell you about the game, we'll fill in for you here. Brave: The Video Game picks up where the film left off, with a storyline that works as a companion piece, so you likely won't spoil too much for yourself if you play the game before the film. Playable either in single player, or in two-player co-operative, the game is a 3D platformer along the same lines as the incredibly popular LEGO games - with enemies to defeat with your trusty bow and arrow, coins to collect, and rudimentary puzzles to solve, it certainly ticks all the film tie-in boxes, as you set out to explore what the press release describes as "mythical Scotland" as the lovely Princess Merida. We don't know if anyone else has noticed, though, but contrary to what the press release seems to think, *whispers* Scotland's a real place. We should know. We've been there. With ginger hair, haggis, and kilts abound, Brave: The Video Game is out now across PS3, 360, DS, Wii and PC. Check back soon for our full review!
