The much-anticipated sequel to A Kingdom For Keflings (a game I spent way too much time on), called A World of Keflings is due out later this year - winter, infact - and to celebrate the game's nearing release, developers NinjaBee have just released a trailer, showing off the game's much increased scope.
In case you missed the first game, A Kingdom For Keflings puts you in the role of a friendly (or maybe not so friendly - it's up to you) giant, who's helping the Keflings, a race of little square-chinned individuals with a penchant for hats, build, expand and customise their kingdom, taking it from a couple of lowly houses, to a fully-fledged kingdom, complete with castle. Managing the various resources, such as wood, rock, and every builder's cornerstone, some magic crystals, you could give each kefling their own job to do (each of which would have them don a different hat) - and if they weren't working hard enough, you could, er, 'encourage' them with a swift kick up the backside.
A World of Keflings is set to expand the original in many ways - well, in fact, there's not very much that hasn't been vastly expanded on. Now, you're no longer restricted to just the one land to build in, as you and your avatar can help keflings all over the world - from the arctic to the desert - build their kingdoms. Each region has it's own unique buildings and keflings, as well as climate and culture - so you can now travel around the (kefling) world from the comfort of your living room. Another big improvement is the local co-operative that's been added for this game - in the old game, you could only build your kingdom with friends online, so now can now get a second opinion on whether your school looks best with a pink or purple roof with your partner, or child sitting next to you. Here's the new trailer - and as you can see, there's now a lot more to be done than just kicking your Keflings about...
