There she is. The New Nintendo 3DS "Ambassador Edition". With nothing in the way of an official announcement, Nintendo yesterday sent an email to an unconfirmed amount of Club Nintendo members accross Europe, offering them a chance to get their grubby mits on an exclusive New Nintendo 3DS bundle before anyone else. While the system - essentially a revision of the 3DS, with a few new features, a slightly faster processor, and changable face plates - was announced for Japan last year, and launched in Australia just before Christmas, as of yet, there's been no news as to when the console will officially release on these shores. The only way to get one at the moment is to have been one of the lucky few chosen - or to get bidding on ebay.
As one of the lucky few to receive the invitation email, I've been lucky enough to buy the new console. Setting you back £179.99, this exclusive bundle includes a White New Nintendo 3DS with exclusive "ambassador" flaceplate, Super Smash Bros white faceplate, and a white charging dock.
Here's a very picture heavy look at what you get in the box, and a few shots of how the new console sizes up against the (old) 3DS, 3DS XL and 2DS. Enjoy!
